Revoke a short-lived licence

Updated · 1 minute to read Download as PDF

You can revoke a short-lived licence at any time, for example when a piece of work finishes early. It’s worth knowing what that does and doesn’t change before you do.

  1. Find the licence

    Go to Licensing

Search for your client’s name under Short-lived licences, or choose a status to narrow the list.

  2. Revoke it

Press Revoke on its row, read the message and press Revoke again to confirm.

  3. Let your client know

Tell your client the licence has been revoked and ask them to remove it from their computers.

What revoking changes

Online register checks made with the licence stop straight away, and it can’t be downloaded again. A copy on a computer that never connects can’t be reached, so it keeps working until its end date. It still counts towards your limit until then, and its place opens again the day after it ends.
