sig · Signing Private beta

Electronic signatures:  Get it signed, and know who signed it.

In short Send your documents and we’ll find where everyone signs. As each person signs, we keep a two-second video of them, where they were and what they signed on, and every signed copy comes with a certificate you can check whenever you need to.

65p65¢ per signed document · camera, location and certificate included · in beta, switched on when you ask

  • 01

    Their face

A two-second video as they sign, checked for a live person.

  • 02

    Their signature

Beside the face, so anyone reading the record sees both together.

    Where they were

From their phone to within a few metres when you ask for it, and their network’s area every time.

  • 04

    What they signed on

The browser and device, and the network address it came from.

How it works

Upload the documents as they are. We’ll find where everyone signs.

  1. 01

    Add your documents and people

PDFs, scans or photos, and the name and email of each person who needs to sign, in the order you want.

  2. 02

    We mark the places

We read each page and put signatures, initials and dates where they belong. Move any you’d like to change.

  3. 03

They sign on any phone or computer

The link opens straight onto the document. If you’ve asked for the camera or their location, the page asks them first.

  4. 04

    You get the signed copies

Each one comes with a certificate of signing, and both are filed in Folio if you use it.

The record

An email address and a click prove very little. sig keeps what would settle a dispute.

Read a sample certificate
  • Face

A short video of the person signing

Two seconds from their camera, checked to make sure a real person was there rather than a photo held up to the lens.

  • Signature

Their signature next to their face

We put a still from the video beside the signature on the certificate, so nobody has to go looking for one or the other.

  • Place

    Where they were

You decide whether to ask for their location. If you do, they can’t sign without sharing it, and the page tells them why.

  • Device

    What they signed on

“Safari 17 on an iPhone” rather than a string of code, with the network address and when each step happened.

  • Time

Dated by someone other than us

An independent time-stamping authority dates every signed copy, so the time doesn’t rest on our word.

  • Changes

    Any change shows up

Upload a copy someone sends you and we’ll tell you whether it’s the one that was signed, down to a single changed character.

Developers

One call to send. No tabs or coordinates to place.

  • Send the files and the people

We find the signing places and email each person their link. The response gives you the links too, if you’d rather send them yourself.

  • Hear back when it’s done

A webhook tells you when someone views, signs or declines, and when the signed copies are ready.

  • The same keys as the rest of Unforged

A document signed through the API costs the same 65p65¢, with no separate API plan.

For the people signing

Nothing to install and no account to make. They open the link and sign.

The email and the signing page show your organisation’s name and logo. People can sign with a finger, a mouse or a typed name, and if something in the document is wrong they can decline and tell you why.

What people ask us

What does it cost?

65p65¢ for each document once everyone has signed it, paid as you go. The camera, location, the certificate, Folio filing and Nib checks are all included, and drafts, corrections, resends, and packages that are declined or voided cost nothing. If you send a lot, talk to us about a plan.

How do I start?

sig is in beta, so send us a message or book a call and we’ll switch it on for your organisation. From then on it’s billed with the rest of your Unforged account.

Is an electronic signature legally binding?

For most contracts in most countries, yes. Some documents, such as certain deeds, have their own rules about how they’re signed and witnessed, so check those with your lawyer.

What if someone won’t share their location or use the camera?

You choose, package by package, whether to ask for either. If you do, they’ll see a plain explanation before they’re asked, and they can decline the package instead. Someone who can’t use a camera can sign with a code we email to them, and the certificate says so.

How long do you keep the videos?

As long as you keep the signed copies. If you file to Folio, your retention rules decide, and you can delete a package’s evidence yourself.

Can I keep using my current signing tool for some documents?

Of course. Copies signed elsewhere can still be checked by Nib and filed in Folio alongside the ones signed with sig.

Try sig on your next contract.

It’s 65p65¢ for each signed document, and there’s nothing to sign up to. Tell us what you send for signing and we’ll switch sig on for you.
