Quick start: get a document signed
Once sig is on for your organisation, one call sends a document to the people who need to sign it. This page uses curl, and the same calls work from any language.
Ask us to switch sig on
sig is in beta, so tell us what you send for signing and we’ll switch it on for your organisation.
Make an API key
Create an API key in the web app and give it permission to send packages and to see them. Treat the whole key as a secret and send it as a bearer token.
Send a document
Send the file with the people who need to sign it. We find where each of them signs and email them their link, so there’s nothing to place.
curl https://api.unforged.sh/sig/packages \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $UNFORGED_KEY" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: lease-14-harbour-row" \
-F [email protected] \
-F 'package={"title": "Lease for 14 Harbour Row",
"signers": [{"name": "Amara Okafor", "email": "[email protected]"}]};type=application/json' The answer is the package, with its id and each document’s id. Keep the package id beside your own record of the deal. If you’d rather send the links yourself, each signer’s is in this answer too, and only in this one.
See where it’s got to
Read the package whenever you like: who has opened it, who has signed and who is still to sign. A webhook can tell you instead, the moment the signed copies are ready.
curl https://api.unforged.sh/sig/packages/$PACKAGE_ID \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $UNFORGED_KEY" Download the signed copy
Once everyone has signed, download each signed copy and the certificate of signing, which says who signed, when, where and on what device.
curl -o lease-signed.pdf https://api.unforged.sh/sig/packages/$PACKAGE_ID/documents/$DOCUMENT_ID/signed \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $UNFORGED_KEY"
curl -o certificate.pdf https://api.unforged.sh/sig/packages/$PACKAGE_ID/certificate \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $UNFORGED_KEY" If anyone ever questions a copy, send it to POST /sig/check and you’ll see whether it has changed since it was signed.
What it costs
Each document costs 65p65¢ once everyone has signed it, the same as in the app. Drafts, reminders, corrections, and packages that are declined or voided cost nothing.
