# Most e-signatures record a click. We think you deserve to know who made it.

> What an ordinary e-signature records, beside what sig keeps: a video of the signer next to their signature, where they were and an independent time-stamp.

If you've ever had to show who really signed something, you'll know how thin an ordinary audit trail is. Here's what sig keeps that a typical signing service doesn't.

| | A typical e-signature | sig |
|---|---|---|
| Was it really them? | You know someone opened an email. Checking their identity costs extra, per attempt. | A two-second video of the person signing, checked for a live person, at no extra cost. |
| Does the signature look like theirs? | Nobody looks. | With Nib, we compare it with the signatures you already hold for them. |
| Where were they? | A rough area worked out from the network. | Their phone's location to within a few metres when you ask for it, as well as the network's area. |
| What did they sign on? | A browser string in a log. | "Chrome 128 on a Mac", in plain words on the certificate. |
| When did it happen? | The provider's own clock. | An independent time-stamp on every signed copy. |
| Has the copy changed since? | Open it in a PDF reader and hope the panel is clear. | Upload it and we'll tell you whether it's the copy that was signed. |
| Placing signatures | You drag every field onto every page. | We find the places and you move any you'd like to change. |
| For developers | Tabs placed by coordinates, often a separate API plan and a review before going live. | One call with the files and the people, on the keys you already have. |
| Paying for it | Seats, with a yearly allowance of envelopes. | $0.65 for each signed document, pay as you go, with the camera and certificate included. Corrections and resends never count. |

## The usual forgery is simple. Someone else opens the link and signs.

### With a typical e-signature: Weeks of piecing it together

Someone forwards the email to themselves, or has access to the signer's inbox. The record shows the right email address and a network that looks about right.

Proving otherwise means email headers, network records and timing, and none of it settles the question on its own.

### With sig: One look at the certificate

The still from the video shows who was holding the phone, right beside the signature they drew. If you hold their signatures in Nib, the package already told you it didn't look like theirs.

If someone tries it, you'll know before you rely on the document.
